Ireland pictures : Gallery 1 : Trawmore Strand, Keel, Achill Island
Trawmore strand (Trá Mór) is a 3km long sandy beach on Achill Island's south-facing Atlantic shore. Trawmore is an EU Blue Flag beach, an honour that reflects the cleanliness of its waters and the safety offered by full-time lifeguards during summer months. The beach is a haven for watersports enthusiasts, particularly for surfers attracted by its Atlantic breakers. Trawmore stretches from the village of Keel (seen in this picture) to Dookinelly at the foot of the magnificent Minaun cliffs. |
